Awake-A-Thon (NOT FOR HOURS)

What: Division 7 South Monsters' Florin High School Key Club has invited our division to their 5th Annual Awake-A-Thon! This Awake-A-Thon is a 12 hour event with the purpose of raising money for the Eliminate Project and the Kiwanis Family House. This year, the event will consist of a rally with a spirit stick, spirit battles, dances, costume contests, service opportunities, sports tournaments, karaoke, and MUCH MORE!!! This will NOT COUNT FOR HOURS, but it is a very fun experience.

When: October 31st - November 1st form 7pm to 7am (Doors Open: 7pm, Doors Close: 10pm)

Sacramento Tree Foundation: Acorn and Seed Harvesting

2014-10-11

What: Help the Sacramento Tree Foundation harvest acorns and other native plant seeds to reforest the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Volunteers will hike 3-4 miles on level terrain to collect valley oak acorns and California black walnuts. The location is somewhat remote; volunteers will need to use a map to find the meeting location and look for and follow signs as they approach the area.

When: October 18, 9AM – 12 PM

Sacramento Tree Foundation: 12th Annual Arden Park Neighborhood Planting

What: Volunteers will help plant trees throughout the Arden Park neighborhood to preserve their tree canopy. Bring a water bottle and gloves; a BBQ lunch will be provided!

Stand Up and Run Placer

What: Volunteer at this 5K/10K Run/Walk benefitting survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse. Help register runners, set up aid stations, take photos and manage music, and/or set up/tear down the event.

When: Set up: October 3, 5 pm – TBD. All other shifts: October 4, 6:30 am – 11:30 am, various times.

Fairytale Town: 28th Annual Safe & Super Halloween - The Adventures of Percy Jackson

What: Three nights of trick or treating and family friendly fun await at Fairytale Town's 28th annual Safe & Super Halloween. Help them transform the park into Rick Riordan's mythological world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians! Volunteers are required to wear a family friendly costume and can sign up to volunteer one, two or all three nights.

When: October 24 - 26, 4PM – 9:30 PM each day.

Where: Fairytale Town

Sacramento Zoo: Boo at the Zoo

2014-09-30

What: Help the Sacramento Zoo put on a spook-tacular Halloween Festival where kids will get to trick-or-treat, play games and participate in a costume dance party. Volunteers can help with event set-up and tear-down or be involved during the event with tasks such as handing out candy at candy stations. Volunteers ages 13-14 must serve with a parent or guardian, and all other volunteers ages 15 and up are welcome! Come ready to make it a fun evening!

When: October 30th and October 31st from 5PM-8PM

What: The membership forms for Key Club are due by September 30 along with a $15 membership fee. If the form and the money are not turned in by the due date, the fee will increase to $18.

Fall Rally North - WILL Count for hours

2014-09-20

What: Bring your mighty Dino spirit to the California-Nevada-Hawaii District Fall Rally North! FRN serves as a fundraiser, a celebration of service, and a day to bond with the Key Club Ohana from the northern area. The proceeds are donated to support our CNH Kiwanis Foundation's Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP).

When: October 18th, 8AM - 5PM. This event will count for 2 service hours.

Where: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Regional Training Conference (NOT FOR HOURS)

What: At RTC, you'll meet Key Clubbers from all over cities such as Sacramento, Stockton, Tracy, and Lodi. There will be informative workshops on various topics , and icebreakers so you can get to know members of the other clubs in the Region. You will leave this conference knowing so much more about Key Club and how to be a more effective officer, leader and member. (NOT FOR HOURS)

When: 9/27, 9:30AM - 4PM

Where: Pleasant Grove High School

Signup By: Email Vivian by September 19th to preregister. Members who preregister pay an early bird fee of $5, members at the door must pay $7. If you preregister but then decide not to go, you still must pay the $5.
