Kiwanis Meeting Bake Sale

What: Mira Loma Key Club officers are taking over the Sacramento Suburban Kiwanis meeting! We will be auctioning off baked goods and other treats after the meeting. Baked goods (cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc.), gift baskets, other Thanksgiving goodies can all be donated. Service hours will be recognized based on how long it took to create the donation.

When: November 26th, Drop off window: 11:30 AM – 12PM

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

What: Raise money for the UNICEF Eliminate Project to vaccinate mothers against maternal neonatal tetanus! Carry the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box with you, dress up in a fun costume, and go raise money for a good cause! Every $1.60 you collect protects a mother and her future children against MNT. $1 can provide a child with 40 days of clean, safe drinking water. $5 can bring a malnourished child back to health. Club goal: $250.

California International Marathon

What: Come volunteer at this huge annual marathon with over 14,000 runners from all over the world. Volunteer duties include Registration / Packet Pick-Up, Expo, Start, Line, Finish Line, Course Monitor, On-Course Fluid Stations, and Relay Challenge

When: December 4 – 7, depending on shift.

Where: Sacramento Convention Center (13th street entrance), other locations depending on shift.

Snow Much Fun and Tree Lighting

What: The goal is to host a fun and free family event to highlight the available resources that the Coloma Community Center can provide for families. Volunteers can help with cookie decoration, arts and crafts projects, refreshments, stage assistant, and more.

When: December 6, 3 PM – 8:30 PM

California Assembly Event

What: Volunteers will help the K to College organization assemble 10,000 school and dental supply kits that will be given to homeless children across the state. Free T-shirt and snacks will be provided.

When: December 7, 10 AM-1PM, 1PM – 4PM, and/or 4PM – 7PM

Fairytale Town: Winter Wonderland

What: Celebrate the holiday season at Fairytale Town! The storybook park will be open for play, trimmed with festive holiday décor and lit up with a dazzling display of lights, starting at dusk each night. Volunteer duties include greeters, arts & crafts, costumed characters, and maintenance.

When: December 13, 14, 20 and/or 21; 12:30PM - 7:30PM each day.

Where: Fairytale Town

50 Bikes for 50 Kids

What: On Monday, January 19, 2015, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the National Day of Service, community volunteers will join forces in North Natomas to help 50 kids transform bike parts into 50 ready-to-ride bicycles.

When: January 19, 8:30AM – 5PM

Where: Natomas Middle School, 3200 North Park Dr

When: Anytime, deadline to turn in boxes is November 10th. You can receive 2 service hours for your fundraising if you take photos of yourself “in action” and trick-or-treating.
